     Flying Aces Sales Page

Flying Ace Farm, owned by Suzy Hamilton of Jackson, Michigan, was started in 1998 with the purchase of four outstanding mares and one breeding to Sierra Dawn Uno De Mayo.  Suzy was in no position to have her own farm, so she boards the horses at Westwind Farms in Mason, Michigan which is 30 miles away.  Cammie Cavanaugh, her sister, is the owner of Westwind Farms.  She has had years of experience raising miniature horses and has guided Suzy through the process of building a miniature horse breeding business.

Over the last eight years, the numbers have grown to approximately sixteen horses which include the three foals born in 2007.  Flying Aces Unos Noble Attitude has been Suzy's favorite horse since she first laid eyes on him in a video (he was born in Texas).  He was the foal born to Cross Country Georgie Girl; one of her original mares that was bred to Uno in 1998.  She thought Attitude was so impressive as she watched him trot in the pastures as a foal and now she is now equally  impressed by the foals sired by him.  He has become the cornerstone to her breeding program.  Sadly with Attitude in training during breeding season in 2006 and 2007, the number of Attitude foals have been greatly reduced.

In June of 1998, Suzy was riding her full-sized horse in the field when a deer jumped near him and startled him.  She was a novice rider and did not react fast enough and fell from her horse.  She suffered pelvic and hip injuries and has been left with a permanent limp and chronic pain in her hip area and legs.  Suzy continued with her desire to produce show quality halter and performance minis and has been delighted in how many of her foals have been successful in the AMHA show ring.  However, at times, it has been quite difficult as Suzy would try to work with her horses and over time, more and more of the duties had to be taken over by Westwind Farms.

In the last year or so, it has been increasingly painful for her to do much walking in the pastures or getting down on her knees to work on a horse.  Suzy now realizes that she is not going to get any better and that she can not continue with the demands of running a horse business.  So, with regret, she has made the decision to sell most of her herd.

Many of Flying Ace's mares have produced show winning foals and Suzy is hoping to sell them to farms that recognize these horses as assets to their breeding programs.   A few of the outstanding mares for sale are: Georgie Girl (Attitude's dam) and Unos Meghan Star (Attitude of Royalty's dam bred back to Attitude for 2008).  There is also a 2006 full sister to Attitude of Royalty named Attitude's Mystique).

Attitude has been co-owned by Suzy and Cammie Cavanaugh for a few years now and he will remain at Westwind Farms after the show season.  We will open breedings to Attitude to a few outstanding mares for the spring and summer of 2008.  Please contact Cammie for further information and requirements for breedings to Attitude.

Please look through Flying Ace's sales list and contact Cammie Cavanaugh for any further information on any of these horses.   Suzy will offer short term, interest free payment plans with approved credit.

GOING OUT OF BUSINESS SALE!!!

At this point, Suzy would like to sell all of her horses and is offering great reductions from last year's prices.  All the mares at Westwind Farms were bred only one cycle this year so that all foals would be delivered by May 29, 2008. (This allows time for show season and visits to Cammie's lake house.  Since we foal our mares out starting in late April, some mares with foals at their side did not come into heat in time for breeding and some mares slipped foals or simply did not catch on only one cycle. Consequently there are open mares for 2008, but there is a guarantee that all horses are breedably sound.  Prices were reduced for open mares.

Phoebe is a gorgeous looking horse with a high-stepping trot.  She was in cart training in 2005 when she injured herself.  With time and and consistent chiropractic care, she now seems to be doing very well.  Phoebe was bred to "Attitude"  for an early May 2007 foal.  Unfortunately, there was a malpresentation during delivery and the foal died.  Phoebe was checked for any problems for future deliveries and was found to be breedably sound.  We're giving her the year off from breeding.  There will be a breedability guarantee given.

Now for the good news.  Phoebe seems to back to normal and trots around the field without any stiffness since early 2006.  She has had around three months driving training with Darin Southwick before injuring herself and showed great promise.  Go slow with training and she should be a top contender in single pleasure driving.  Phoebe turned nine in June and she should give you many more years of show driving or breed her next year to your favorite stallion.     2006 Price ... $12,500.00 (bred)
